Spend the 2026 bank holidays at The Man of Gwent

The one thing the UK does well has to be our bank holidays. Eight glorious days every year (and nine in Scotland) where the aim of the day is to head to the pub and consume as much food and drink as possible. UK bank holidays are truly the epitome of British culture, right?

Make the most of the next bank holiday

Whichever UK bank holiday it is, we make the most of it. Every time. Whenever there's an upcoming bank holiday, we just get so excited! So much so, that when it's a month without a bank holiday (like boring old February), we get really upset.

But, anyway, because there aren't very many bank holidays, we really have to make the most of each bank holiday. How many times can we say bank holiday? One more bank holiday for good measure. Bank holiday. Okay, now we're done.

A group of friends all sat round a table with meals and drinks served in the interior restaurant at a Flaming Grill venue.

Plenty Of Food

Unfortunately, we do have to be responsible here and tell you that you've absolutely got to line your stomach for a bank holiday weekend. But, luckily, we've got some stellar dishes to get stuck in with, so it's not all bad.

If you're sharing, we've got our Beef Burnt Ends Nachos – which are absolutely loaded. No nacho is left unloaded. So good. Or, if you'd rather have a meal to yourself, go for our Chicken & Rib Combo with half a flame-grilled chicken and half a rack of glazed, saucy ribs. Not safe for first dates.

Bring On The Drinks

This is what you're really here for, right? Don't worry, we're not judging. We're here for exactly the same thing!

Bring on the beers (perfectly poured and ice-cold), the wines (we've got red, white, rosé and sparkling), the cocktails (you can get two for £9.99 – and where else in Newport can you get that?) and the spirits (go double for £2 extra). And if that's not enough, we have ciders, bottled beers, soft drinks, teas, coffees and even water, if you're just going to be like that. Basically, if you can drink it, it's behind our bar. And it's all served nice and cold and fresh.

Live sport this Easter

When it comes to a bank holiday, our Sky Sports and TNT Sport screens don't catch a break. We make sure all of the latest football, rugby, F1, tennis and everything else is showing live and direct in our sports pubs every bank holiday – and if it's sunny, you've got to make the most of our outdoor sports screens! Spoiler alert: they're the best way to watch ANY live sports action.

Our pub is open on bank holidays!

As the best pub in Newport, Man of Gwent is, of course, open on bank holidays.

So, book your table or pop on down and we’ll get a table ready for you this bank holiday. See you shortly.
